Hard News Practice

STORY #1

Jones was shot in her right leg because her dog knocked over the handgun off the seat. This caused Jones to be sent to the emergency room very quickly. While Jones was in the emergency room the animal control checked the dog to see if stable. The dog appeared to have a loss of nutrients and a fresh cigarette burns on his forehead.
Ngo, one of the animal control officers, said her office would be filing charges for animal abuse. It seemed only fair that this action should happen because of the care the dog was in was not fair nor caring for the dog. Also Jones didn't have a license for the gun so that could be bad for her case. The district attorney's office is still deciding whether or not to charge her in connection to the gun accident . She's going to have to face a lot of charges in the future.
“It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops,” Ngo said. That basically means that Ngo thinks the dog did what he did because of the abuse. This is something that no dog should have to face.
